I'm dragging a little bit this morning (hence why I can't think of a clever title), despite my 'splurge' of a skinny mocha coconut frappucino. Couldn't sleep last night...possibly because I took a two hour nap or possibly because I was so super duper excited to get a care package from my awesome co-workers.
Lots of good stuff to keep me occupied, although the KU jayhawk lip balm is questionable. I have a reasonable suspicion about who might be responsible for that, Susie. :) I love getting packages in the mail and this one did not disappoint. You guys are the greatest! Hugs to Ann, Beth, Vince, Lezlie, Susie and Liz. Also, Liz - please tell Ella that I am enjoying the Disney Princess crosswords. Much more my speed than the New York Times.
Nick's mom took me out to a wonderful lunch yesterday at Bixby's which is in the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park. St. Louis, people - get ye'selves there. So good. We shared a spinach salad and then each had the vegetable napoleon, which was big pieces of squash, pepper and eggplant roasted and then layered with manchego. I died, came back to life, and then died again. We also picked up a chicken and prosciutto sandwich for my father in law, who has been quite patient with all of the vegetarian cooking we've been doing, but I suspected that patience might be nearing the end. :) Luckily, they are headed to Venezuela tomorrow and will be eating lots of wonderfully yummy food, I imagine.
I got to spend last night with Jean, Joel and their adorable eight month old son, Andrew, who was so cute, I was half tempted to forget the IVF and just steal him. Jean and I share a love of bad reality TV, so we ate some fan-friggin-tastic pizza from Dewey's, gossiped, and watched The Bachelorette. All of the seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are horrible (and by horrible, I mean amazing to watch because you feel so much better about yourself compared to the vapid, brainless reality TV 'stars'), but this one is PARTICULARLY horrible...and also delightful.
I continue to feel really good...frankly, better than I do most of the time. The bloating hasn't been too bad and I feel like myself. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, though. Yesterday, I had 16 follicles on my right ovary and 13 on my left...today, I have 18 on each, so they think my egg retrieval is going to get moved up to Thursday or Friday. (Fist pump!) Nick is taking the train in tomorrow, so we're getting close. Oh, also, I made friends with the blood draw ladies. They've been admiring my Gelish manicure, so I shared with them the relative benefits of Shellac vs Gelish vs Axium. And I haven't thrown up on them once! Go, me.
