IVF for Dummies

No, this is not a post explaining IVF to 'dummies'.  It's a post dedicated to all of the dumb things Nick and I are doing while we are waiting to find out if we're pregnant (well, I say we...but I mostly mean me).

A sample:
  • I yelled at Nick yesterday for squeezing me too hard while giving me a hug because he 'might smash the babies!'
  • Even though I am allowed to go swimming and take baths now, I'm not going to because of an irrational fear of drowning the embryos.  (I am still showering, lest you be concerned about my hygiene).
  • I was going to wear a dress today that was form fitting enough that it necessitated the wearing of Spanx (cue the angels singing...love me some Spanx!) but decided not to because I thought the compressive nature of the undergarment might over-squeeze the (potential) baby(ies).
  • Yelled at my cat for jumping on my stomach, 'kneading' my stomach and just generally even looking at my stomach for fear of crushing the embryos.
  • Am only reading 'happy' books because I don't want to scare/stress/frighten the embryos
Despite it sounding like I've gone off the deep end, I am surprisingly calm about the waiting.  It was rough the first day we found out that no other embryos made it, but pretty much since then, I've felt weirdly calm.  Not really sure what to make of that, but I'll take it!
